Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Inno Aero Light Four Bike Rack, part number INH640. We already have a bike installed on our rack. Let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features.Starting at the end and working our way inward, at the very end of our first arm here, you can see we have this locking point along with a place for a key. This is what's going to hold the integrated cable lock so when all four bikes are installed, this wraps around all of them and attaches to this point here to offer some security for your four bikes as you travel. It does come with a set of two keys for this.Moving onto the cradles, we are going to have these padded ends here where the frame's going to rest in place. You can see that that's going to provide a nice point here to help protect your frame once you install it. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Subaru XP Crosstrek, we're going to be test-fitting the Inno Aero Light 2 Bike Rack, part number INH620.We already have a bike installed on the rack, so we're going to take a closer look and show off some of the features. This of course can carry up to 2 bikes. The cradles can be moved back and forth, as needed, to assist you with loading and unloading, and there is a padding on the cradles to make sure that the frame of your bike doesn't get damaged once it's installed.It holds your bike at 3 points. We'll have 2 strips up at the top, as well as one off to the side, and that's going to serve as anti-sway cradle to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike to bike contact.Now with these anti-sway cradles, they can be pushed up out of the way, and this is going to make loading and unloading much easier, but when you fold the arms down you're going to want these folded all the way out, and we'll get to that in a second.Also, moving forward here, we do have an integrated cable lock that'll wrap around both the frames of your bike and attach to this point here and lock into place. It comes with a set of 2 keys to do so.Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. To do that, there are tabs on both sides of the strip here, just push them in at the same time and these come right out. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Quad 2 plus 2 two bike and four bike platform rack for two inch hitches. This is going to be part number S64692.We already have a bike installed on this rack, and while this is rated for both motor homes and vehicles this means you can take it on the vehicle you may be towing behind your RV as well as the back of your RV as well. Plus, it has another interesting feature about it is when you see it in the four bike version here by removing a screw up at the front here you can take this rear portion out and convert this to a two bike version if need be. How it holds the bike into place, we're going to have three points of contact. At both tires we're going to have these straps, and then up at the top here we're going to have this padded frame hook. When it's padded it's going to make sure that the frame of your bike doesn't get scratched or damaged once this is being installed. more

So, you go out and come to the front here to this blue handle, pull out slightly, let it come down, and now we have full hatch access to get what we need and more than enough space in between the bike rack and the bumper itself to do so. Speaker 1: Today, on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be testing the Elliptical Aero BikeWing, T4 4-bike rack for two-inch hitches, part number B01458. We already have a bike installed on our rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look here.This is designed for up to four bikes, has a carry capacity of 160 pounds, so that, roughly, is going to be about 40 pounds per bike, give or take. This can hold road bikes like you see here, but it can also fit alternate frame bikes, kids bikes, mountain bikes, and fat bikes, and with an adapter, excuse me, that is sold separately.Now, the big advantage to this is how it grips the bike itself. It's going to have these two points of contact here, or really, four points of contact, with these straps, and once those are attached, they're going to stay in place. But the big advantage is, no bike adapter bar is going to be necessary with this installation process, as you would get with a lot of other platform-style racks on the market.Also, we do have this padding here, that is adjustable up and down, the arms here, to help protect the frame of your bike to make sure no scratches or abrasions get to it. more

Now, if you want to gain rear hatch access with all four bikes attached, normally you would have to buy a model that you can swing out away from the vehicle to do that, because most of the hanging style, you'd have to take the bikes off, fold it down and then you can tilt it out of the way.With this, this actually glides out of way with all four bikes attached. To get that rear hatch access, to do that we'll come to this trigger here, at the backside, push out, and then we have that access that we need. more

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're gonna be test fitting the Malone Hanger Three-Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number MPG2127. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. This can carry up to three bikes and can carry bikes with alternate frames, children's bikes, mountain bikes, and road bikes that you see here. Some bikes may require the use of an adapter bar to place it onto the cradles as you see here. Malone does sell one of those, but it is sold separately. The cradles are adjustable back and forth accommodate loading, and you have to loosen and tighten this screw here, and the tool to do so does come with the bike rack. We do have reflectors on the ends of both of our arms here, and this is to help with visibility at night. more

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Thule DoubleTrack Pro 2 Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number TH9054. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is attached to the rack, we'll have three points of contact. We'll have this spring clamp here, which tightens down by turning this knob to the right and loosens by turning it to the left and this is also lockable so once you install this on this way, you can lock this down, it will free spin and your bike's going to be secured to the rack. At the base here we have two wheel straps on both tires, and these are movable by lifting up on these handles here and adjusting them accordingly. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek TH9043- Video

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule Helium Aero 3-bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number TH9043. We already have our bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of our features. Our cradles are adjustable along the arms to accommodate loading and unloading. They also have this shock-absorbent material on the tops of the cradles as well. Also these grooves here where your cables can rest, so they don't get smashed up against the frame once your bike is being installed. It'll grip your bike at three points. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek TH956- Video

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Parkway Four-Bike Rack for 2" Hitches, part number TH956. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike actually attaches to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have two straps up at the top and then one off to the side, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth and making bike-to-bike contact with the others. The cradles are adjustable along the arms. This is to accommodate loading, and the cradles also have these grooves on the inside, so your cables can rest in there and not get crushed by the frame of the bike when it's being installed. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek- Video

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack platform-style two-bike rack for inch and a quarter and two-inch hitches, part number TH990XT. We already have our bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have this padded frame hook up at the top and it's padded to ensure that your bike doesn't get scratched up once it's being installed. Then we have two wheel cradles with these straps here at the base. Another thing to notice about this is it has a nice, raised hang to it, so if your hitch sits particularly low to the ground, you're not going to have an issue of clearance between your bike rack and the ground. more

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek we're doing a test fit of the Inno Aero Light QM platform-style 2-bike rack. That part number is INH330. Now we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come around to the backside and we're going to pull out this pin here. What's really nice about this bike rack is that it still holds in the same position while your bikes are fully loaded, even when you pull out that pin. more

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstreck we're going to be test fitting the Hollywood rack support rider 2 bike rack for fat bikes for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number HR1000-FB. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The most important feature about this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that we'll come down here and there's these two pins on the side, we'll go ahead and remove the larger one first. Then the smaller one. Now holding onto the bike rack we'll go ahead and let it tilt forward with the bike on it. more

First off, this bike rack can actually tilt away from the vehicle with the two bikes attached. To do that, you have to remove two pins at the base here. We'll remove the smaller of the two first, then the larger, and let it tilt down. Now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need. more

The most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, we'll come to the bottom here, remove this pin, then pull this pin out and let the bike rack come with us. Now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need. We'll simply lift the back into position until you hear the click, and reinstall the pin and click. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact. more

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2 Bike Rack for Fat Tire Bikes. This works for both 1 1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number HR200-FB. We already have a bike installed on the rack, so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. This can carry up to 2 fat tire bikes or, in some configurations, just a fat tire bike and a regular bike. The fat tire wheel wells can carry tire sizes up to 5" wide and how the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have 3 points of contact. We're going to have this padded frame hookup at the top and it's padded so once you install your bike, it's not going to get scratched up. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek b202-2- Video

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Beta 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches, part number B202-2. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. The cradles themselves are made of a nice, tough, plastic material and they are stationary. They have these grooves in here so that your brake cables and such will not get pressed up against your bike frame once it's being installed. It grips your bike at three points. We'll have two straps up at the top, and one off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth, and making contact with the bike in front of it. more

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Apex 5-Bike Rack for 2-inch hitches, part number TH9026. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first feature I'd like to show off is its integrated cable lock at the top of the mast here, which you would pull out, wrap around the bikes, and attach it to this portion here up front and lock it into place to secure your bikes to the rack. The cradles are adjustable along the arms to assist with loading, and it has this arc design to also assist with loading to keep the bikes from running into each other. The cradles themselves also have this nice padding or cushion padding that you can see here and is actually shock resistant, so when you're driving it's not going to shake your bikes all over the place. Put that back into place. How it actually grips your bikes, it's going to grip it at 3 points. We're going to have 2 straps up at the top and 1 off to the side, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek TH9034- Video

Today in our 2014 Subaru SB Crosstrack we're going to be testing the Thule T2 Pro Two Bike rack, part number TH9034. We already have a bike installed on the rack lets go take a closer look and show of some of the features. Now the first and most prominent feature is the fact that this can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. You come out to the end here with this gray handle and you're going to pull it towards you and it will tilt down. It's kind of nice having it out here as opposed to other bike racks which have it closer up underneath the bikes and it makes it a little awkward when you have all the bikes loaded up to tilt it. Pull it towards us let it come down and now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need. Thanks to the clearance between the bike rack and the bumper we have plenty of space on both sides to do so. Once you lift it up and hear that click it's now locked back into place. Another thing I like to talk about is the raise shank. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek- Video

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Sarus Freedom 2 bike platform rack. Part number SA4412B. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first feature I'd like to show off is the fact that it has a nice raised shank here, which despite the low clearance level of the hitch, there's not going to be an issue of clearance between the bike and the ground. How it actually attaches to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact. It's going to grip the bike by the frame here with this strap, as well as two wheel straps on each of the cradles. The cradles themselves are adjustable along the arms to accommodate different size bikes, and also to assist with fitting two bikes together. You simply loosen up the knob here, that can move along like so. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek TH9044- Video

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek we're doing a test fit of the Thule T2 Classic Platform Style 2 Bike Rack. That part number is TH9044. Now we already have our bike secured down, so we're first going to show you how we do that. Here at the back we have a cam buckle strap that we're going to push on the grey portion down here and pull up to release. Then at the front we have a wheel hook which sits either in front of our brakes or in front of our frame depending on how our bike is made. We just push on the grey button on the side to release that and then pull straight down to ratchet that down. more
